Architect in Progress at thearchitectinprogress.com is run by Abhishek Narayan. This page explains what the site keeps, what you choose to send, and how to withdraw it.

What stays in your browser

Reading position and text size are saved in this browser so a chapter can reopen where you left it. That information stays on your device. It is not sent with the launch list or with feedback. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.

What you choose to send

These details go to the site’s own mail service so chapter notes can be sent, a reply is possible when you left an address, and early-reader comments can be read while the book is revised. They are not sold.

Email

The list is about one email a month: new chapters, a cover vote, and the launch. Every message has an unsubscribe link. Using it stops further mail to that address. Feedback sent without an email cannot be answered.

Analytics

The site loads Google Tag Manager. It may set cookies and record events such as opening a chapter, turning a page, opening a form, and whether a form succeeded or failed. Names, email addresses, and the words you write in feedback are not part of those events. A visit from a share link can include campaign labels (which network the link came from). Those labels do not identify you. You can block or delete cookies in your browser.

Sharing

The share buttons open Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or WhatsApp. Those services only receive what you post there, under their own policies.

How long it is kept

A launch-list address is kept so messages can be sent, and so an unsubscribe is remembered. Feedback is kept while the draft is being revised. Analytics follows the retention set in Google Tag Manager.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any chapter email. To ask for a copy of what you sent, or to ask that a name, email, or feedback message be deleted, use the feedback form on the home page and include the address to look up.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. The terms and conditions cover use of the preview itself.
